I would rather have people complain and gripe than take a gun and shoot people. IN that way CD serves an important purpose in allowing people to let their steam out and recharge.


How you feel about Canada or India or life in general is coloured by your personal situation. Today gripers can at some point become Canada's biggest supporters. But that can only come about if they find the resources, support, or sympathy to turn around their personal situation. In its own way the CD site helps people to do that.

My response: I was born in India and spent a good 30 plus years in India, before imigrating to Canada. I am afraid, interceptor seems to be fromt he tribe of false nationalists ( akin to the fascist nazis), who confuse genuine criticism to being unpatriotic, and being blindly nationalistic to being patriotism.

I read somewhere that there are three kinds of lies - lies, damned lies and statistics. Interceptor probably has the statistics (read "lies" to prove that there are more drug (and Sex) addicts among canadians than Indians . Well I would think he should read the UN report on AIDS, and Tobacco Use among Asians before making such wild allegations. There are more recreational users of tobacco in India than here. As for sex, well it's nobody's business to peek into someone's bedroom (and that someone includes interceptor). As for the sexual life of Indians, well I think the population of 1.04 billion speaks volumes. I will leave the rest to the imagination of those who read this message board.

My response: Why should we bask in mediocrity, when we decide to seek fortune in an English speaking country? Just because India has "the largest pool of English speaking people", doesn't make it right. Well we are talking of getting better when it comes to speaking and writing English.

As for why India is "snatching away jobs" (sic), interceptor should probably know that we have a large pool of people who are good at developing software. Computing is more about math and logic.......not English.

My response is Well it's a load of crap, BS, and just plain stupidity. Now my friend talks like a false nationalistic politician, who says this things to garner votes. My question to interceptor is " I Agree Bharat is mahaan, it does have a 6000 year old history, a cultural heritage equalled only by the oldest civilizations in China. But do we keep basking in the past glory and not move forward? If we do not have the courage to constructively criticize the ills that we come across - well that is being unpatriotic. Just saying "MERA BHARAT MAHAAN" just to satisfy one's ego means nothing.

One last question - If I am wrong and interceptor is:

1) what did he come here for (apart from riches, status, the "phoren" name tag)?
2) Why wait until retirement to go back?

India s ppulation is 1 000 000 000 and maybe more .Out of that a minuscule 50k to 75k come to Canada annually.Thats .000005 % .

Ok agreed not all are eligible to reach Canada . Say 15% of the above (very rough estimate ) are eligible. That pronounces 150 million. Out of these 15 crores even if 10% think of arriving Canada (ie 15 million) GTAs estimate for 2020 wud be over by now !!!


The reality is that a majority of well earning professionals who are settled in India (Doctors /CA s / Businessman) DO NOT consider the Canadian option . They are comfortable and settled in India in their own habitat and wudnt wish to come over . Satisfied and glowing .

Its a small 50k - 75 k which thinks of adventuring out . These are the people who are professionals , know that they cannot reach the top (in other words average) and denounce the corruption ,pollution and over-population and find Canada as an option for restarting their lives . They want a good infrastructure / corruption free society which they eventually get but they risk to lose their professional identity in bargain.

No1 is right , no1 is wrong each have their own parameters and judgments .But its wrong to say that a large number of Indians want to come to Canada after knowing the realities . Entry to Canada is not difficult .

As 2 why dont they pack and go back - Im sure there is a significant number which does that .But the majority hang around and resettle themselves but for the inherent human nature of "settling down" & being hopeful that something will eventually come up and they accept it . Also ridicule back home may be another factor which stops ppl from packing their bags . WHY THEY COMPLAIN is coz their "consultant-misportrayed-dreams " crash in the first month .
