Hi,

I have my uncle in Canada(My mothers brother) who is a Canadian Citizen, living there for last 9 years and also my mothers parents who are having PR status in Canada. My uncle has sponsored his parents and they are living there since last 3 years.

1. How can I show my relationship to them as there is no document that my mother has which show her parents/brothers name on it.My mother does not have a birth certificate and her passport contains my fathers name.

2. Since my mothers parents are dependents(as my uncle has sponsored them) do i have to show the relationship between my mother and her brother in Canada or can I show the relationship betwen my mother and her parents also.In a nutshell for claiming points for relatives is it necessary that the relatives should be working and not dependents or sponsored??

Please Advise
Kind Regards

hahaha
let me work it out for u
1) when ur mother parents (maternal grandparents) had filed for the PR (immigration file) they must have filed a family background or relationship form. In which it is mandatory to name ur sons, daughters, brothers, sisters if any. there they must had file for ur mothers name and if not then it will become difficult for u to prove. as immigration officer will check that form of ur maternal granparents.
2) yes, they have to show the income in canada to sponsor u. and it doesn't matter if they are sponsor by ur uncle. but if they can't show that they are able to support u then t might be again difficult for u.
3) ur uncle can't sponsor u as he had already sponsored ur maternal grandparents.
4) earlier there were no birth certificates, so immigration officer will understand this. so don't worry bout it, but ur mother should have some proof stating them to be her parents. it might be old school registration where she had studied.
i hope the above points will help u out in solving ur puzzle.

I totally agree with you on this but there are some points which I think I have confused you about(Sorry abt that):

Please let me clarify that my uncle is NOT sponsoring me.I only wanted to know that if proof of relationship has to do something with the relatives income and status ie will it be better that I show the relation of my mom to her brother since he is a citizen and working or showing relation with her parents will also do(considering the fact that they are dependents and have no income).

I have checked with my mother and her school docs have her maiden name and her present first name is different from what it was.

Also but I have checked with my mother and she has a different name in her school document and after marriage her name was changed. So there is no conclusive evidence that I can put in my file for the same.So I have thought of getting a document notarised that says my mother Mrs. XYZ is the daughter
of Mr. XYZ living in Toronto,Canada.

Is there something you can advise of.
