In the SINP application, one has to attach his/her birth certificate. The birth certificate must have the applicants name, fathers name, mothers name time/date/place of birth etc.

Now in my wife's birth certificate its written, baby girl is born to Mr and Mrs so and so because at that time her parents had not thought of a name for her so soon.

So when we approached our state govt authority in India for the changes, they did write her name but also wrote " WE CANNOT REGISTER THIS NAME AS IT CAN BE DONE ONLY TILL 15 YEARS OF AGE OF THE CANDIDATE, AND HENCE IT STANDS UN REGISTERED ."

After reading this line, I don't think the canadian govt would acknowledge the certificate. Would the canadian govt, accept class 10th certificate in lieu of the birth certificate ?

Need expert advice !

Some sugestions are as follows :
1. You can file an affidavit, stating the reasons why the birth certificate canot be used.
2. You can contact the reception of the SNIP office, explain the reasons and ask for alternative documents.
(you must remember that the law has been written by Canadians and since every cdn. has a birth certificate, they assume that every citizen in the world would have oe)
3. Register the name in India as the individual is now above 15 years. May be a bribe will have to be given as the person is not in India.

My recommendation is 1 or 2.

Peace

There is always an option..... You are not and will never be the only one with a unique problem..... Begin with that in your mind.... Always....

When we were to come to Canada..... We faced such an issue..... Our family had PR status..... However, my second child was born afterwards..... When he was just an infant, we decided to finally move to Canada since our PR's would expire..... now the problem was that the embassy refused to give my baby a visit visa on the grounds that you can't convert a visit visa into a PR.... So we said, we will leave Canada for a few days between the changeover.... Which was not acceptable to them..... Moreover, the application for my son's PR must be done by the principal applicant from within Canada.....

We fretted and fumed.... The thought of our family being split till the application of my son's PR.... Our own PR status expiring.... My husband having to miss his baby's precious months of growth .....etc

Google is man's best friend in such times..... After hours of hundreds of search strings..... I found a possibility..... A hint/a clue.....Following that.... I had the solution.....We arrived in Canada as a family..... And now the consul general is my friend.....:)

Keep searching on google.... There are hundreds of forums..... Immigration experts.... Lawyers....etc.... Who give free advise....you post your question and they answer..... Sometimes you get clues from people who had similar issues..... You will be surprised at how many people have/had similar problems or queries......

All the best.... And hope your wife's application is successful...

Yes Mam

For the last 24 months, since my wife left for canada, Google is my only friend. Day before yesterday I was on it for 13 hours at a stretch when we encountered a problem.

FYI the issues I am facing:

1. My wifes employer has refused to give her an exp letter which we need for SINP/PR
2. The ROE submitted by him to Serv Can is wrong.
3. The pay slip has an incorrect name on it and cant be used for proof.
4. Now the birth cerit issue.

She is living alone in canada w/o her family,me, or any relative since marriage.I am trying hard, very hard. I too believe there should be a solution somewhere hiding from our eyes, but at times one gets extremely exhausted when issues keep raining every month.

thanks for your time and wishes.

Wd u do me a favour Mrs khanna

Wd u pls ask the consul general once, that in a situation where an employer refuses to give a ref letter inspite of the fact that the employee has served 1 months notice period and submits a wrong ROE, what can a candidate do to save his SINP ( saskatchewan) because a ref letter or a correct ROE along with pay slips is a mandate to apply for SINP. We have done our duty and thats the truth but if emp is callous or highly unprofessional, we must not suffer. Even Service Canada says they have not heard of such an issue before.

What is the date of birth on her passport? It is acceptable as proof of birthdate. How about driving license? Has your wife applied for one? Even if she is not planning to buy a car or drive, she can give the written test for driving and get a DL with her photo, which will serve as her proof for DOB.

Also, on most forms there are 'mandatory' fields and other are optional fields. You need to fill in only the mandatory information (usually marked with a * or some other symbol, please read the form completely with instructions for filling). I believe in Canada, filling in your parents name is optional, since a significant % of populations dont know their biological parents, there are gay parents, single parents..etc..etc..

I would also urge your wife should contact the nearest immigration counselling center to have all her problems sorted out - they are free and very helpful. You cannot imagine these things while staying in India.
