Hello friends,
After 4 years waiting for parents sponsorship, CIC requested to submit all documents and forms again which I did in October, 2014. Now in December, they returned everything that I sent them including the postal cover stating that I need to submit Proof of relationship with parent within 30 days otherwise file will be canceled.
I have been living in Canada for more than 15 years (studentm work permit, immigration & citizen)...all the times, I have been using my birth certificate as proof of relationship with my parents. But now they are not accepting it !!
I dont have any other document that shows my name and my parents name together. Can I get an affidavit showing that these are my parents and submit it ?
Please help as document reached me after 2 weeks so I only have two weeks to send them the document
Thanks a lot

Problem is parents are not in Canada so cannot notarize their passport. Do you think of any other way around. I am 36 yr old and it is ridiculous to find now that I don't have a legal proof to show relationship with my own parents. Eye opening..

Get the notarized affidavits done from within India itself. I did that and submitted without any issues.
These are the ones I got made:
1. Parents' Marriage affidavit - in addition to the official marriage certificate.
2. Relationship to me.
3. Their individual birth affidavits (as they didn't have the birth certificates).
Submit the above, and you'll be fine.
You can also provide copies of wedding photographs, your wedding invitation which would have their names on it, copy of their registered will, any property document where they may have you as a nominee, copies of their passports, any official communication from your school/college, school leaving of college leaving certificates etc.
Basically, you should provide as much proof as possible that they are your parents.
This is a standard procedure. Don't get hassled. The more documents and proof you provide, the quicker your application will be processed. You can also google - how to prove relationship for immigration etc.
All the best!
Thanks everybody for help.
Getting notarized copy of passport and get affidavit here in Canada sounds good to me. Also found that there are so many different names everywhere with BHAI, KUMAR & LAL written on name so need to straight that part as well.
Now I am thinking, India is so diverse and have many names for the same person Bhai (family), LAL (Friends), Kumar (in-laws). It sounds good but when it comes to legality outside of India, it's equal pain to rectify.
Thanks again for support
