Haven't done it to Toronto. But done a few times from Vancouver to Winnipeg. Even from Seattle to Winnipeg.
It's really nice and as AnilKG said u'll see a lot of Canada that way. Same thing for me. I have seen most of the places just driving on these long trips. U'll hit mountains, flat land the prairies which is also quite interesting as some places are lush green and some are like desert. Some nice small towns and some big cities. The drive through Manitoba and Saskatchwen though not the greatest, should be done atleast once to see the different geography Canada has. They also have their own beauty.
After Calgary the drive is awesome through the mountains. If u have time, visit Jasper, Banff, Lake louise on the way to Vancouver. Worth while places to visit.
Can keep on going about it.
But really the drive will be worth it.
