can u tell me what is the normal differencec between the foreign exchange rate for the canadian dollar to indian rupees on http://www.xe.com" rel="nofollow">LINK and what a bank in india will actually give somoene in india ?

to put it simply, if i wire money to india, how does the exchange rate that the bank will give me in india compare with the rate that i see online on http://www.xe.com" rel="nofollow">LINK ???
i knwo the bank will give me less, but i want to knwo the difference.

can someone throw some light ???

Every day before start of the money market Reserve Bank of India publishes Reference rates for leading currencies against Indian rupee.

You can look it up on their website; reduce this rate by about 20-25 paise per dollar and you will have a fair idea of what exchange rate you will get.

For example today's reference rate for USD is 45.06 Rupees. If you were to send money in USD the actual exchange rate in India will be around 44.85 rupees.

I couldn't find reference rate for Canadian dollar against INR on the RBI website, but then again you can always lookup for CAD to USD rates too
