Update on Montreal Trip :
Montreal is really such a nice place that GTA seems like a Swamp. I really liked montreal. It is also a very big city with lots of good views/ vistas. I saw atleast 4 engineering marvel bridges which gives a good view of the city. Downtown buildings are so nicely/ Architecturally done. I would love to be in Montreal all the days of my life. It is also a Bilingual city. All whom i met spoke in English only.
There are a lot of Architecturally appealing churches in Montreal. It was a bit cold / snow but not that bad.
Other points to note :
Gas was 99.4 cents to 94.4 cents in Montral. Compare that with 79.9 in the GTA
YWCA Hotel was very near Maharaja Buffet. The YMCA Matress had bed bugs in it.
Montreal is generally cheap in Food costs/ cost of living.
Highways inside town have speed limits of 50 km/hr to 70 Km/hr. which is a joke.
Parking garages in Downtown have no one in the booth even at 9:00 pm. Had to search 2 hrs to find a 24 hr. one (on the fear of the car being towed away). The receptionist at the YWCA told me to park free of charge at the place where there was no one in the booth. I refused.
People are less shy in Montreal (esp. Males with females)
Houses have separate stircases to go to Second floor from the street (Good rent Value).
Their Downtown is bigger than ours but people are very less.
Their Stadium is better than our CN Tower (they have a winch to take you to the top).
Was there for just 5 hours and hence could not see many places. Highways run all over town.
Montreal looks like atleast 3 to 4 times bigger than Toronto.
Internal roads are not east to navigate and a lot of one -ways in the Downtown.
I made atleast 10 traffic mistakes (running on redlight, left and right turn on red, going the wrong way in one -way road etc..) but was not caught. Could not see even one police car or police man.
