Hi there.

I like to buy a car this january from Montreal and move to Toronto permanently. If I do so what kind of problems I have to face upon moving to toronto. I am wondering if I have to do insurance, number plate etc. once again? And what about leased-vehicle if I lease instead of buying?

Any reply will be appreciated.

Hi,
You will have to change your plates/license and insurance rate will probably go up. You have about 3 months to change your plates/lic. Look for an insurance company that can cover you in TO too and if you know your intended address in TO ask them for the rates in TO for your car model yr. About a leased vehicle you'll have to check a the dealers. I'm not too sure but dont think it'll be a problem.

Its possibe (tho I don't know for sure) ...you may have to pay sales Tax when registering the vehicle in Ontario (8%)
