Hello friends,

I plan to travel on Alitalia to India in Nov. Could you please share your experience in terms of:

1.General comfort
2.Layover at airport experience
3.Any specific tips

Your replies would be greatly apprecaited.

Also, I hear that Emirates is running a deal ending in Nov. Does anyone have info.?

Thanks in advance,
J

Never travel by Alitalia,

food is hopeless, air-hotesses can barely understand English, pathetic service.

shell out more money, but fly comfortably in KLM, BA or Luftanza

cheers

I travelled by Alitalia last summer to India & back. It's so-so. I was stranded at Milan on my way out, 'cause of the floods in Mumbai (they cancelled the flight). It was a mess at the airport, but at the end of the day they gave me a hotel accomodation to/fro transportation and a stand-by ticket for the next day (which got confirmed). On the way back, they offer me some meat dish in place of the veggie food I ordered. When I gave them a piece of my mind, they got me a meal from the 1st class.

Altalia is is the worst airline with the most unappealing food. I have traveled on it once from Toronto to Mumbai and back. Pursers are not able to communicate in English and they treat desis like crap. Avoid it like the plague!!
