Can you guys please do me a favor and ask the Bhullar guy if he still rents out apartments with no lease. Also find out how much he charges.
Most of the ad's i have seen for rooms for rent or shared accomodation seem to be for students. I am a professional in mid thirties and will be totally out of place living with 18 yr olds.
I could rent a proper apartment but they all want you to sign a lease. I dont want to sign a lease but would like a rent receipt.
Thanks
Hi
With Skype it is free to call land / mobiles in Canada. So I advise you to call Bhullar Guy and other advertisers and explain your situation. You will get first hand information. There are some landlords who rentout without lease. I hope it is not difficult to you. If I go to that shop I will try to ask them. But you can explain your situation better.
regarding students many are not teens. There are some students like PhDs and researchers who are matured and professional. but it may be your last option.

If I were you , I would stay away from desi landlords , unless you knew them well .
Dude TC,
I honestly am not sure what you are looking for.. Last we exchanged emails.. you seemed to be inclined to actually live in Windsor .. if you are going to live there , go for the best place.. don't be afraid to sign a lease.. You have zero credit history in Canada to ruin just in case you get GC fast and decide to bolt.. so what are you afraid of??
Apart from that... trust me.. forget Bhullar plaza.. I have seen these apts.. there are a step above old mumbai chawls.. from your writing and history I think you would prefer something much more classier..
Broadwalk have a few good properties.. I still think VPP (victoria park place), or 75 Riverside Drive are much better choices if you decide to live near tunnel and downtown.. if you are okay with riverside.. I thought 3777 Riverside had best layouts and cleanest apts within reasonable prices.. actually pinnacle and few others are really good places but those again are above 1400$ range per month..
I can help you with other things too.. just PM me or email me.. I think you are making this all too complicated.. first decide whehter you want good place to live or just an address.. and once again.. forget bhullar.. there are much better ways to piss of your money
Ya windsor_boy is right. I saw Bhullar plaza yesterday. 650+utilities. and not very classic but ok. lease is reqd.
I live in boardwalk apartment. very clean and nicely maintained.
I think I will go for Broadwalk Bachelor Apt. Thanks windsor_boy for the tip. What I was worried about is a non issue - I will just bolt if my US Green card comes through.
Sky,
What kind of deposit did Broadwalk take from you ? since you are new in Canada you probably dont have much Canadian credit history either ?
All,
Since I will be on a budget (spouse, kid, home and mortgage in TX ) how is Regency Colonade
1545 Ouellette Avenue
It is a broadwalk apt.
Thanks for all your help.
Oulette is definitely okay.. near to downtown.. what I found is.. unless you get apt right on the riverfront and have Verizon or Cingular.. US telco n/w don't work and Roaming in Canada is just too expensive.. just something to think abt..
