But when you cross over from Windsor to Detroit and back on a daily basis, they dont stamp your passport each time right ?
So what would the officers look for - stamps travelling to other countries apart from US/Canada ?

Some people told me that since I don’t have enough proof I can get arrested, is that true
--Yes! If you lie on the citizenship application, They can charge you with perjury and put you behind bars. I have seen this happen in front of my eyes for a person who was applying for a driver's license in US . They called the Cops as the person was claiming to be somebody but was not . Both the applications say that what you are claiming is correct and subject to perjury if proven wrong. So I would be very careful claiming something that was't true with a Govt. Organization like CIC.
And if you claim on your application that some "employers" paid you cash, then those employers would also get into problem with canadian tax issues when you disclose their details to CIC. Did you pay taxes on those cash dollars. You and they could easily be charged with tax evasion. You are putting an axe to both yourself and those employers if any .

Comon guyz lets not scare each other..
if they checked and looked into every law in the book abt 60% of population in any country will be in prison!
Abt incident you saw in USA .. well focus currently is on illegal immigration due to all the right winger crap and republicans and bushies trying to scapegoat hispanics after they had their fill with gays in '04.. so there is heightened sensitivity with illegals and things they do like identity theft to stay in USA..
Canada on the other had has different policies.. yes some cities like Windsor might be checking passports carefully due to some people taking advantage but I don't know anyone getting arrested at citizenship centers.. Some people do dumb things like showing address in canada during the time their passport stamps show they were in India!! so they question validity .. and depending upon bungled response sometimes bully people into withdrawing the applications but if you have even lived in canada a yr before applying.. there is no way in hell any judge would throw you out should you choose to go in front of him.. ! Hell I don't keep any records greater than yr myself.. ! You can always say I lived in Canada and USA and prove that fact thro' number of other docs.. but ultimately it depends upon overall atmostphere and prevailing sentiment in the law and immigration establishment.. which is pretty mellow right now with cic and Canadian judges..
So are you saying it is okay to lie because it is Canada ...

The Canadian Citizenship Personnel has access to the DBASE on the airline bookings and they check with your first/last name for any air travel. They also check in the DBASE of the Drivers License and also on OHIP DBASE. They do this NOT to pull up any dirt but to countercheck whether you were there when you claimed that you were there in Canada. Everytime you visit the DR there is a swipe of your OHIP card and hence you were there in Canada. Everytime you register your car, renew plates, get a ticket or an accident your DBASE is updated and this shows your presence in Canada.
Off late the Canadian Citizenship system is scrutinizing more closely than it used to do 2 to 3 years before. But the Citizenship Judges are quite considerate and you should not try to counter them, but politely put your case forward. All these judges are in the loop and if you have to counter appeal your case in Ottawa, the guy there would be a friend of the current judge. Hence there is no point in antognising the Judge but to abide by his direction.
Good Luck !

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....
"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"
