Windows update of thursday taking very long to install?

Hi,
Did any of you have observed same? My windows auto update was downloaded overnight and when I tried to switch it off this morning (Thursday) it is taking forever to install those. It’s been 4 hrs and it still says 1 out of 12 installing. Is it normal?

Our corporate IT has instructed us not to install this update. It has some issues.

Not at all normal. Windows Update Site had a problem couple days. I dont know current status though. If it is already downloaded - I think you should be ok.

You must have tried Rebooting by now.
If it still does not work. Try 'not to' install 1st update ...

Your corporate IT should be using SUS (software update service) Garvo. You cant download updates if you are on a corp environment. did your IT mean at home?

I was able to download all patches fine. no issues

No issues at my end; Updates on our home PCs (WinXP-Pro) were, in fact, unusually quite quick. No problems encountered thereafter..
