6 to 9 months if everything is clean. If you have a very common last name it might be longer due to fingerprinting.

My time line:

Landed on 13th October 2003, family landed on the 16th November 2003. Filed for Citizenship for the whole family with date of application and the CITIZENSHIP TEST date is on the 20th November 2006 at Mississauga.

Hopefully we should obtain our citizenship by June 2007.

who would make you starve, if you don't.'"

Thank you for responding Mr.S.

Just curious. you landed on oct 2nd week 2003. How did you get the test so fast? Is there a way to push this forward?

Regards,

You can do that by enrolling in the Citizenship classes conducted by the ESL classes in your region.

You can enroll in this course 30 days before you finish your 1095 days without any absence or you can enroll immediately after 1095 days and if you have an absence of 30 days from the country. You fast track your application as you finish your test immediately. But you will still follow the Que in terms of security clearances like others. The advantage you have is that you can leave the country and you only need to come back for the Oath which might be 7 to 9 months later if there are no complications in your application. This costs $40 and it is 5 week course of 4 hours each, they help you to fill in the application and help you in avoiding common mistakes. You also learn about the country and are better prepared for the test eventhough it is very simple.

For Eg: Who were the first refugees in Canada ?.
Answer: The British who were kicked out of USof A after the Civil War and who took refugee in Canada in the British areas.

Who were the first Settlers in Canada ?.
Answer: The first settlers in Canada were the French who sold their territories to the British after the French Revolution.

By enrolling in this course, you complete one headache of the test and you are not waiting for the test.

How about using google for a start (citizenship classes brampton->search) and/or contacting your nearest community center? LINC classes are also listed on CIC website, who can refer you to those conducting citizenship classes.

I found out who conducts citizenship classes in Kitchener using the way described above.
