MCR,

Congratulations to you !.

Enjoy your Citizenship Day !.

It has taken hardly 5.5 months for you and quite a record.

What are you going to do next ?.

Moving to the Yankee town ?.

Good Luck & God Bless !.

Note: Please remember Jallianwallahbaag; Dandi March; 15th August 1947; Kohinoor Diamond and many other irrelevant stuff (Just Kidding).

hehhee..Thank you, Mr. Shankaracharya

I have an offer from USA and going to try for TN visa in the next 3 weeks time. I hold bachelors degree in mechanical engineering and worked in USA three years on H1B before coming to canada. Is there a problem in obtaining TN just because I am a mechanical degree holder? Which border post is easy to get this visa? Please advice.

Regards,

MCR,

The port of entry/visa stamping is not as crucial as how you frame your application and how is it as per NAFTA classification as you know all are the same minimum wage idiots manning the border(s).

Your education should be related to your field of hiring and the letter of offer should be as per the NAFTA classification if not the guy at the border has to use his peanut brain to understand the letter.

You are the 5th person whom I've met this month, who is crossing the border to Yankee Town upon obtaining citizenship. If qualified/quality people move like this we will be left with Warehouse Keepers and Truck Drivers in Canada. Who will pay for the EI/CPP and also keep the real estate market high and unaffordable ?.

Good luck on your endeavour and please prepare your documentation as per NAFTA requirements.

Shankaracharya, you are right when you say about the EI/CPP support and about moving of the qualified people from Canada to the US.

Unfortunately, Canada does not have enough good quality jobs for the professionals. What I mean is the no. of jobs to the no. of immigrants ratio is very poor. Also, since most of us (desi people) are economic immigrants, the salary difference between Canada and the US makes them move to the US soon.

The situation is unfortunate, but it is true!
