Hello, I applied for my canadian immigration at buffalo centre, I am working in US for past 4 years and gave a written statement for waiver of IELTS exam , as per the experts experience would i be required to give it? so far my elcient status shows your file is udner processing and i haev a file # not anything else, Would i be in future asked to send proof for english usage proof?
Also what is the current time frame for processing applications
I applied on 8th August 2003..when should i expect a first clearance of first stage?

highly recommended that you take ielts. It will speed up your processing.

approx. 16 months to get visa. some of the steps are: medicals, request for police clearance if outstanding, interview [may be], payment of fees, sending passports, obtaining visa(s).

I believe 16 months sounds about right... but is an optimistic one (with a waiver). If interview is required it could add further delay. I would say about 20 to 22 months is more like it.
The File Number Intimation that I have received says that they are currently processing cases that are 44 months old. And they have asked me to be prepared to wait for 44 months as per the current trends!!!...But this is CHS Delhi.
