Hello Everyone,
I am in Canada on study permit and my wife is at back-home and applied for visitor visa and got rejected. Was called for an interview and reason was given - she will not return back and insufficient funds. Officer also said that your husband has gone to Canada for 1 year to study and then later he got his stay extended by studying further so if u will be given an opportunity, you will also not come back and being asked her not to apply for any TRV in future as they won't approve it.
1) Now what are our choices? In future can my wife apply for any Canadian Temporary visa from any other country or not?
2) I also want to know would immigration application will be affected in anyway?
What should I do and what not. Please suggest. Thanks in advance.
I think your case is quite clear. You are here on a non-immigrant permit and your wife got rejected for applying as a visitor. She may have had better luck if she had applied as a dependant of yours (is there even something like that in Canada?).
Anyway, your case would probably be reviewed totally different if and when you apply as an immigrant (for PR) and you include your wife as a dependant. You might have better luck that time.

Hi dimple2001,
Yeah she applied for an dependent visa (but CIC call as a visitor visa or temporary resident visa), so i said in my previous post that she applied for a visitor visa.
But still i would like to know now my wife cannot apply life-time for any temporary resident visa from other country, if in case we don't get PR or until we get our PR?
Thanx....
It appears clearly that you and your wife have NOT DONE your homework well, before the visa interview. Given that your wife's visa was rejected the first time, you should have spoken to someone practising immigration law, who could have advised you as to how to plug the loopholes.
I know of a friend who had a similar situation and had to use the services of an immigration consultant here in Mississauga. If you are interested, send me an email, and I will give you her contact information.
good luck
hi cir57,
u can pm me here the contact info. thanx
I am surprised that after having spent so many years in a country like Canada you are still seeking a work around when what has been explained by the Visa officer is clear and to the point.
think you should consider it a favor that they didnt stamp a "Visa Applied For " stamp on her Passport and advised verbally --- if they would have done that .... then not only to Canda but Visa to any country would have been difficult .
I suggest lets follow the rules and regulations and comprehend the limitations , not seeking work arounds ...... As some one has replied , your wife's Visa would be viewed separately when your PR is processed .
Can you explain why have you created a new id and posting from 02 differnt ids . ? I think in Inet terminology its known as TROLL.

Hi,
You can pm me at I can not post the contact information of the immigration professional here, for reasons of ethics - that would amount to canvassing (which I am not doing). I am simply referring this person's name because she specializes in such cases.
Hope you understand.
