Hi,
Do any of us have an idea about "Exchanging Indian driving Licence with Canadian?"
I got some information on MTO web site:
It says:
Applicants declaring more than 12 months driving experience but less than 24 months within the preceding three years:
To obtain recognition for more than 12 months driving experience, applicants are required to obtain written authentication of their foreign driving experience from the originating licensing agency, or from the Embassy, Consulate or High Commissioners' offices representing the jurisdiction. The authentication letter must be on official letterhead and be written in either English or French. The letter of authentication must be dated within six months preceding the date of application for an Ontario driver's licence.
Any idea/suggestions, how to get such letter from Consulate?
Thanks in advance,
Varsha

I have driving license from Pune and Sharjah.
With the mistakes I made what I learnt is (this is for anyone who is planning to land from India or UAE)-
1>Check you name and date of birth. It must exactly match with that on your passport. A slight difference in the way name is written or a day's difference in date of birth will not be accepted.
2>Obtain a letter from Pune RTO (or Sharjah Maroor office). This letter should state exact name and date of birth as on your license/passport. The letter must be printed on letterhead and needs to be presented here in original. It should state the current validity of your license.
Pune RTO gave me a letter on plain paper with original RTO stamp on it and it got rejected here.
If your license is more than 2 years you will be credited with 12 months experiance and can directly appear for G2 (after you pass mandetory theory test).
If you are still in Pune/Sharjah bring the letter with you.
