Hi,
I haven't got my info (that the 2001 cases are being cleared) from the embassy but by going through the timelines of various applicants on http://www.trackitt.com" rel="nofollow">LINK and from discussions of applicants on various other forums.
But if asking the embassy works in Pakistan, good for you!

Normal processing time is around 4-5 years. But still nothing is fixed. If you are lucky you can get the response early.
