Try talking to the travel agency through which you have booked or to airlines.
Ask them for a suggestions.
One of my Uncle, was on a visit from India and he had go through a lot of nonsense while checking/boarding because he had given his name with initials and not as per the passport. However, I guess he paid some extra fare to be on the same flight in his "passport name".
Carry your marriage certificate for good.
Shriya.

thanks for the suggestion. yes, i did talk to travel agent from whom i booked the ticktes. she is asking for extra money, in other words she is asking me to rebook the tickets with the current price as opposed to what i we had agreed to pay before during the ticket sale.

Actually to some extent its my mistake also i had to book 3 one way tickets to Canada from india and the travel agent was kind of known to my husbands family. So i gave her all our names including with family name and she blocked the tickets when it was on sale. When she was supposed to issue me tickets after the payments. She asked for our passport photocopies and then she told us that my tickets should be as per the name in the passport (which is in my madian surname).
I think as Chandreshji told maybe i should call to the Airindia directly and see what they tell me.
thanks for all your suggestions.
