The recall of pet foods is in the news. And many such recalls have taken place before.

I wonder why in India we never have such recalls? Is it that the acceptable level of quality is low or our law and order has dropped to such levels that no one bothers about such things. We ( India) cannot be so perfect in manufacturing quality not to ever warrant a recall.

Good qn. Never thought abt that. Things are taken for granted in desh. When there is real competition and customer service, things would improve. It's like take or leave it scenario. At least now things are getting slightly better. When Walmart and other retailers are allowed, it would improve the quality. If the govt allows Chinese made products (like in North America), then that would really kickup the competition in desh.

Virtually everything on the shelves in the shops in India will have to be recalled and all shops will be empty.

I bought some funschool toys from India and in a year they are broken whearas the toys i bought here have lasted more then three years.

Why recall when you can blame fake products? When foreign objects are found in cola drinks in India, it is usually blamed on spurious products.
