Well here one more thing i forgot to specify that i hv done MCSE,CCNA,CCNP,SCA,RHCT and have 7 years of IT (Linux Networking and System Administration). I am B.E.Mech Graduate.

Does this qualification enough to meet the requirements ?

Getting H1 has nothing to do with your cdn status - no advantages/disadvantages.

BE (mech) itself should suffice. But again, u have to be lucky to get the H1 this year, since it is purely going to be based on the lottery.

Also, L1s were not required to pay US taxes on the wages. I think, they closed that loop hole. They now are required to file/pay taxes on par with US residents.

L1 were ALWAYS required to pay state and federal taxes. What they were (or may be still not required, I do not know) not required to pay was the social security taxes.

Ahhhhh...good to know. Thanks for the info. Can't let anyone escape taxes, eh?

Well, F1s (students) are still exempt from Social Security taxes. So, SS taxes are not taken from any earnings from assistanships and campus work. Along with that, those earnings do not count towards the SS credits of 4 per year that are normally earned.

I did not know about the taxes for F1 visa holders - I learnt something new :-)

Thanks to you too, for this info!
