Bcoz it's Man-dominant place...
Although, you can find opposite here..in north america, guys perefer to be girl..most of them get whatever they want..
Look at malls..., teen-ager..when she have kid...guy have to take care of her lot..and also baby...or else she will walk away with someone..also with child they get someone else very easy.. i know one of the guy in my office..he got married with girl who have 2 kids as single mother and for this guy its first marriage..and both have 3rd kid together and very happy 
) ofcourse he is white.. its different here.
who knows, with girl aboration, one day in india also same. right now ratio shows out of 10 guys only 8 girls ....wait until it become 10/5...after 20 years.
Yes time are changing as more girls educated and work and become independent things will change. Now we lot of divorce in India, I don’t know if is good or bad, but for women to get out abusive marriage it is good sign
If you get a chance, see the film "Matrubhoomi: A Nation without women" starring Tulip Joshi which presents a scenario in the distant future when the female birth ratio in India will decline so drastically due to female infanticide and abortions, that women would become a treasured "commodity" with one women being married to several men at the same time. Thought provoking film, although may not be upto everybody's palate
