22,000 for a fresher is definitely a good starting salary. Given that many people do not reach that salary level even after many years of experience.

One can easily meet monthly expenses in 22 K. Ofcourse depends on lifestyle also!!

At times I wonder that taking in all the inflation in the past 10 years that I have been out , how well can a person fare in a salary of say 8 to 10 lacs in one of the metropolis ? What would be comparable Canadian salary ?

Talking abt the OP I sincerely hope the same trend is not repeated in Canada with jobs shifting over to India . I think when it comes to cost cutting , quality takes a back seat .
