Hi guys,
I have my G2 driving test in Oakville next month (trying to get early date). It will be great if one can share any good/bad experience for this test center.
Thanks,
I passed G2 from Oakville in 2nd attempt but almost 2 and half years ago. I think it's very easy and no much traffic but just take care about railway crossing. because I failed during 1st attempt because of railway crossing only examiner said I observed poorly and didnt slow while pass through railway crossing. Take care or all the way stop signs because they will take you to the streets residentntial areas and where many all the way stop signs are there. Overall not to worry much about roads generally easy and examiners are also nice. best of luck
Thanks a lot for a quick response and great tips. I was really not ready for railway crossing while my exam. Now I'll be fine. I'll also keep posting about my experience. and will wait if any other friends post their exp. before my exam.
I passed my G2 in first attempt from Oakville 4 months back. Since there was a snowstorm on the day before it was bit difficult to drive though. Be care ful about the stop signs on the local roads, parking on a hilly area and childrens play area. Yes, the Railway crossing too. the main thing is that be confident :-)
I passed from Oakville at the second attempt.
When they take you out of the test centr they usually ask you to turn right and then left into the residential are.
I turned left from the centre lane and thats why they failed me. Be careful.
2) Be very patient and come to a COMPLETE stop on all the stop signs. There are several stop signs.
3) As everyone mentioned slow down and look left and right at the railway crossing.
4) If you do not turn right but turn left then Just after the railway crossing there is a small section of the road marked for fire station, if there is traffic do not cross the railway crossing onto the road marked with the sign. Simply wait before the crossing and wait for the light to turn green.
5) They might take you to a school zone which will be sloping downwards, make sure you do not exceeed 40kmph whatever happens.
6) Also parallel park, park uphill, downhill will be tested.
7) Finally everytime u turn do not forget to turn your heard left right like a donkey. You may not have enough time to check blind spots but move the head anyway they dont know you are not looking..
best of luck
