Hello friends,

I have a question on work permit.

My friend’s got his work permit under Post Graduate Employment Program and it expires in first week of September 2007. He is unable to get Labour Market Opinion as his employer is not willing to go through the paper work.

My friend applied for his immigration in September 2006 and is not expecting it to come through atleast until December 2007.

Can he apply for tourist visa for this interim period and if so what could be the chances of getting it?
And if he applies for tourist visa, would it in anyway hamper his immigration file process?

I would really appreciate if some one can throw light on this issue.

WP expires on Sep 07 ..

Rightnow it is taking around 20 to 24 months from buffalo As far as I know. So, still your friend has a lot of time to hear from them. Your friend can apply for visitor visa but chances to get visa are not that good. Your friend has another option of Student visa as well.

I think CIC is taking long time to process study permit and that is why he did not choose for that..He was hoping his employer would help, but that din't finally materialize.

There are couple of my friends who applied in Buffalo and got their PR in 18 months time or so, recently. However there is no general rule per se..

Regarding visitor visa, would you know what king of problems can happen? what reason can he provide in his applicaiton form?
