Any candidate in CD forum for this Post

Please see requirement

The Indian cricket board has issued an advertisement seeking CVs for a new national coach before September 15 for a two-year term and has listed a wide range of responsibilities and skills required for the high-profile job.

Among the foremost points listed is the ability to motivate players and optimise their performance at all times, said a media release from BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah.

The candidate must have played at least first class cricket and must possess experience of coaching an international or national team or should have been a coach at an elite coaching centre of international repute.

The aspirant should be a qualified coach with minimum Level III coaching credentials obtained from Cricket Australia, England or India and should also be able to build positive relations with the public and the media.

The advertisement has been placed on the website of a few cricket boards, the release stated.

The coach's key responsibilities also include working closely with the selection committee and inter-acting periodically with the Review Committee to be set up by the board, it said.

He should have the ability to plan and manage programmes for the elite cricketers, should have basic Information Technology skills and be familiar with the use of performance analysis software packages.

The aspirant must also possess excellent communication skills to deal with different sections of people like players, team management, selectors and the BCCI, the release added.

The aspirant for the coach's position should be available to conduct clinics and workshops for the local coaches and provide the team with tactical expertise, according to the conditions laid down by the BCCI.

Another requirement stated by the board is that he should have basic knowledge of Indian cricket, player pathway, culture and ethos, should be capable of handling the team under high pressure situations and have outstanding organisational skills.

The candidate should have extensive coaching experience and expertise in working with elite cricketers.

The candidate should also have knowledge of international coaching trends and possess ability to use video technology, the release further said.

The term of the new coach will start on October 1 and involves extensive time away from home while travelling with the Indian team both within India and abroad, the BCCI has said.

The board, however, has not specified the coach's emoluments and said the terms and conditions were negotiable.

What you feel?
Does Indian Team really need any coach with present situation?
Please note I am writing this before 3nd ODI in England

Kapil Dev and Sandeep Patil are already in ICL - there is no way they can be coach of BCCI team.

B.S. Bedi has a controversial attitude - not sure if he is good for the post.

Just my 2 cents...

Ganguly said once"we don't need proffesor or teacher at this level". He is right. Indian team doesnt need teacher ..they need one person who can handle some pigs in Indian Cricket team. For that Army person would be the Best choice. Coach needs to have hunter instead of bat. All they need is practice but they are soo lazy n big that they won't even bother. First class cricket players n India A play better than some of senior players.

Once M.Amarnath told the BCCI is nothing but bunch of jockers. Now, Sharad Pawar & Co. have proved it. BCCI is the wealthiest among all cricket playing nations. However, they are not able to find a good coach for the team. Even after the dilemma of Greg Chappel many capable coaches are not ready for the post. Whatmore was a good choice but an ego of Sunil Gavaskar came into the way. I dont understand why Sunil Gavaskar has so much weightage over such decisions. He is the leading Jocker of Indian cricket history who was playing for himself only and not for the team. I mean powerful Mumbai lobby of S.Pawar, Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri , Vgarkar are nothing but jockers and they damaged Indian cricket more.
