now i have a question . i want to immigrate to canada . i am just 23 years old with good educational background . i am a highly paid tech for AOL(america online) at one of the call centers in india(the biggest one).
i am a post graduate in computers .. online surveys i take show me that i qualify for immigration to canada. plz tell me u experienced people if i should migrate to canada at such young age . does it have oppurtunities for young people like me or is it just for experienced 35 year olds with a wife and bunch of kids

I landed when I was 24 (did have a wife even then:). 8 yrs ago I was considered highly paid (30k INR/month) though I have heard that its not that big a salary now. I got my visa 6 months from when I applied and had my interview waivered too.
On landing here I initially had a tough time...took me 2 yrs to relearn the ropes the Canadian way..especially since it is an extremely niche field that I am in. Had to do all kinds of jobs to survive. Went back to school etc.
Got my break after 2 years of landing. Now after 8 yrs I do not regret my decision one bit. I know a lot of my colleagues, who stayed back, have to work double the time I have to, so as to earn less than what I do and yet (even tho I lost 2 yrs) have not professionally accomplished what I have been able to. So for me it has worked out.

At 23 your timing is perfect. Only caution... expect to make sacrifices and start from scratch if you have to. At 23 it should not be that difficult.
For a field like 3d animation the opportunities and quality of projects are currently of a much higher standard, in the west, than in India(whatever else the outsourcing talk will have you believe... its only the grunt work thats being outsourced in this field). So In my field it makes a lot of sense for me to be here. I do not know if your area of expertise will have more opportunities here or in India.

You have to do research and make your decision according to your long term goals.

"highly paid tech for AOL(america online) at one of the call centers in india"

Call center jobs are near minimum wage jobs in US and Canada. Without significant experience in computer field, you are going to have tough time in US/Canada.

You are young at 23, why not consider higher education in US/Canada?

Not always..e.g: If you are in a call center supporting a 3d anim product , you can be making more than 40/hr...so it depends on the s/w product you are supporting and the degree of specialisation it takes to support the product. If you work at a good company(supporting a specialised product) you can make more than 80k/yr even at a call center.

Generic call centers, its true, operate at the minimum wage.

I agree that higher education is a good option for the younger folk.
