Hi friends,
I have submitted my passport for canadian immigration and will probabily get the visa in Feb,05. I am still undecided whether to migrate Canada or not. I need your valauble advise.
My present situation in India:-
I am Post graduate in Statistics & working as Business Analyst(Sales & IT) in a reputed telecom company in INDIA and earning inr 50k per month. My wife is also working in retail sales and earning 15k/month. She is expected to deliver a child in mid march.
Q1. Once we are immigrated, she can't work becuase of small child. Can I get a decent job after landing and earn enough money so that we can survive in canada?
Q2. What kind of job I can get intially? What is avergae salary I can earn in the intial stage?
Q3. What is the average monthly expenditure in Canada?
Please suggest me whether I should come to Canada or not?
I don't mean to discourage your question however from experience, I can tell you that it is mostly redundant. What will happen is that you will get a flood of opinions, some positive and some negative. In the end, you will be at square one where the onus of the decision is upon you.
Most of your questions have been adequately answered on the forum before, you should have the answers about basic expenditures and stuff if you browse a little. Use the "search in charcha" feature.
Btw, is your wife planning to accompany you when you come in Feb? I'm not sure if airlines would allow a 8 mo. pregnant lady to travel and even if they do, I wonder if it is advisable.

Are you there?

Congrats on completing the PR process !
First of all, I will not recommend that your wife comes to Canada with you if she is going to have a baby in March.
Probably by the time you get your passports and are ready to travel, the airlines won't even let her board a plane because of the stage of pregnancy she will be in.
Secondly, landing in a new country with no friends and no ready-made housing arrangement here is not good.
In most provinces she will not get health coverage for her delivery - you probably won't even get a doctor in such a short time.
Also, in March, it will still be very cold compared to Indian standards.
So if you land now, you should come alone.
But she will have to come before her visa expires.
Keep in mind that your child will not be able to come with her because he/she won't be a PR.
You must first settle in Canada and then sponsor him/her.

Quote:This question also comes up very frequently, and the answer is that it varies widely depending on where you go to initially.
