Has anyone used Citi NRI services? Can u share your experience?
DIO
I have a Citibank NRI account and use it infrequently. I found the service more personalized and better than ICICI NRI accounts. I have a dedicated personal manager in Toronto for any questions / forms etc. But if you have to call the Toll Free number, its the same case as any other bank ...
All in all, I am pretty happy with it considering the limited choices that we have. On the flip side, their exchange rates are very bad. But, you can open an account with them and use money2india or remit2india to transfer money into the Citibank NRE/NRO accounts
Let me know if you need any other info.
i have been using their service since 4 years and no problems at all.
they deliver the draft at your doorstep .

I actually found the people who man the NRI desk in Toronto very helpful. I have had an account with them for about 3+ years. When I originally opened an account with Citi NRI in beginning 2004 they had a minimum balance requirement of $500 (I think it's the right number). At the beginning of 2007 Citi came up with a promo wherein they waived minmum balance requirement for 5 years - as with any of these promos it applies only for new accounts and not existing customers.
I contacted the Citi NRI in Toronto and asked them if they can extend this waving of minimum balance to existing customers. Sure enough, they did! I was impressed that they were willing to do this and not come up with any excuses.
