I have a cousin who has develped a rare disease which is being treated by some local medication and some imported from Canada.
He has requested me to send some courses from Canada since he is not too sure of the authencity of the medicines found in India. It is a prescription medicine and my family doctor is not willing to write a prescription unless he sees the patient.
Does anyone have an idea how I can buy this medicine and take with me to India on next Saturday? While in Singapore it was easy to order some prescription medicine without prescription if they were picked at the departure lounge pharmacy at the airport (to make it sure it was NOT sold in Singapore for local use without prescription), I have not heard of such a thing here in Toronto.
Any concrete/workable suggstions or help in getting a prescription would be an obligation on me.

If you are transiting thru Dubai , you can search for that Medicine in Drug store in Transit Area. They also employ some good pharmacists from India who can suggest other alternative also. Pharmacy is well stocked.

Thanks for the suggestion - it had come to my mind too. Only thing is I am flying American and transiting through Chicago. Does anyone know if I could get it there?

There are some websites that sell prescription medication to various countries but they require you to mail the original prescription (Can't recommend one though, some googling and research required). They might accept a prescription written in India.

Hi,
there is one program called "Special Access program". Through that program, doctors can order drugs from other country if that drug is not available or not approved in that country and that doctor feels that it is necessary. I'm sure that program works in Canada but dont know about India. There should be definitely that programm too. Could you pm that contents of the medicine I will try to help you out.
