hello !!
My parents were here on the visitors visa.
We have extended there visit visa till mar 2008.
Dad had an unexpected heart attack and had to go for a bypass surgery in end of Dec 2007.
Now due to extension of there visa they had to go through a medical exam. I did had an appointment to for there medical exam but they had to leave back to India in emergency.
Will there be a problem becuase they have missed there medical.... or they can do it over there with an authorized medical doctor and send the results back here.
I need some advise.
Your parents already have an "approved" extension till March 2008 OR have you applied for an extension and the CIC asked for medicals before processing the application ?
I am assuming it's the second case. Please confirm.
I don't think that there will be any problem. Since your parents are no longer in Canada, there is no point pursuing their extension application.
I guess you can just let CIC know about the circumstances and that you wish to withdraw the extension application since your parents are no longer in Canada and do not need the extension.
Even we did exactly same what ash_canada suggested.
My parents were here last year and we applied for their extn. We recieved the letter of extension on 18 Aug which suggests that they shud go for re-medical and visa was extended till 2nd Dec.
But before getting that letter, my parents had to rush back because of some urgency and they left Canada on 4th aug.
In this event., we simply informef the CIC about the facts and situation.
I think, it shud be ok. We haven't received any communication thereafter.
Umesh
