I would say that the admission requirements throughout Canada is based on the Rank and the score (Marks) obtained in the subjects, required for entry into the Medical field. High Seventies and above will gain you an entry. That will be my guess. Some of the students who score into mid seventies don't even get to see the universities. It is a very tough entry system and if you are entering from a different country, it might seem impossible to get a seat. Try and get a seat anywhere in Canada and you will have the same prestige or ranking in the Medical field. It is a sought after profession. Please see Maclean's magazine's publications on this subject.

Since he already has an entry into Canada, your Dad has to be the one to evaluate his family's requirements with the sacrifices that he is willing to make for their future and security. As regards his settling down in his profession, there are other threads that have discussed it to a degree on this CD's charcha, which will guide him to move on here upon landing. He can re-open the subject matter if he requires more information pertaining to his qualifications and for additional clarifications and help.

Most of us want to live to a hundred. Doing some math he has a second half to scale to reach that level and I am sure he will continue doing wonderfully and you need not have any fears about it.
