Hi Usha,
It is good that you are able to take some decisions about the move. Also, Kids may change their options, once they are exposed to the different opportunities available here. So, come with an open mind.
All the Best!

Hi, all CD's
We received medical papers and confused about when to move to Canada.
My son is studying in IX std in India with CBSE syllabus. Our ultimate aim is to send him for Medicine study in Canada.
Is it advantageous to study in Canada from IX std to get admitted to Medicine? From some websites, I found subjects selection from IX std in Canada where as in India there is no choice upto X std ( Except languages )
Otherwise, we would like to land and return back and stay in India for about three years before finally moving back to Canada permanently.
Could anyone suggest best option?
Usha
Hi PTM and Hope,
Thanks for your responses.
rajuu,
Thanks for sharing your experience. Why your son has to appear for TOEFL exams? Did he studied in Telugu medium? or
Is it compulsory for every student to appear for TOEFL to get admitted into secondary school?
- Usha
aah i see the uptight nature of every indian parent. let your son decide what he wants to be. dont force him into medicine. and if you are more keen upon letting him study medicine in india then tell him to give the USMLES after he graduates and head to the US cause IMG's in the US dont have problems like IMGS in canada. IMG's are virtually facing a firewall in the canadian system.

Sorry for jumping into this. but I think it is important to consider this;
> The ideal time to put your kids in school may be xyz...
> But I think that would be driven by your job situation as well before
moving isn't it ?
You may / may not find a suitable job to your "liking" during the time
you think you should move. and it may be the perfect time in regard
to schooling.
What would be you thought process then?

Assuming that the student wants to proceed with doing medicals in Canada ,will he be required to take science subjects in Class ELEVEN.
