Dear CD family,
I am sure most of you have read and heard about these new rules......I think they have not been implemented yet but I don't see anything stopping them too.
Do you think these rules are good for individuals (applicants/prospective immigrants)?
Are these good for the Canadian economy and the nation as a whole?
Will this improve upon the socio-economic structure?
Will this reduce 'welfare benefit and cash job too' scene?
Will the govt. be less sc..wed?
There are supporters and opponents, off-course. Various communities have their own concerns as well. One of the articles published in today's The Star:

+s:-
In my opinion, it will be good for the individuals and the country too.
* Applicants will get the immigration in just 6 months to one year time.
* They don't have to wait toooooo long and let all other major decisions of their life put 'on hold'.
* Only those immigrants which will be seen 'fit' for the economy and job market, given visa. I think they want: Land on Friday, start working on Monday, start earning and start paying taxes.
* There will be less burden and less 'scams' involving settlement grants and services.
-s:
It could have the negative impact too, as mentioned in the article in The Star.
There is no appeal against the Immigration Minister's decision.
The scene will be like: Ek Baar bol diya naa ki immigration nahin ho sakti.....bus dubara baat nahin karne kaa. Koi appeal nahin.....seedha faisla.
Racial profiling could be another big issue.
Your '2 cents'?

Just wanted to highlight the following lines from the article:
Those who don't have the skills deemed necessary could be out of luck, and their applications rejected, although Linklater said the upside is that they won't be left in limbo for years, as happens now.
