I am in india now.My wife who is canadian citizen is with me since our marriage here in india.Now we are planning to go o cananda.PLease please advice if there is a spousal visa that I can apply for so that we can start the immigration process once we are in canada.I read a similar question in this forum and ur reply was see under 'ask expert'.I went there and couldn't find anything.So please advice as I am pretty confused.Thanks a lot.

If you married recently then best will be that your wife come back to Canada and sponsor you. At present; Spouse application is taking around 3-6 months - if all the paper work is satisfactory or it Could be quicker-depends on case to case. Being a Canadian citizen, if your wife is living exclusively outside Canada: She still can sponsor you but processing time is usually longer…

If you want to be with your wife and come to Canada together, she can sponsor you while she is still in India. Processing time will be the same as though she was in Canada as long as your application is well documented.
