Here is my timeline:

Applied : January 15,2007
CIC Montreal Received application : Feb 16,2007
eclient status until March 30th,2008: In Progress
Moved to Wateloo and requested to do the file tranbsfer: March 31st,2008

Called CIC agent today and agent told me that it will take 2-3 months time to complete file transfer from Montreal to Waterloo/Kitchner office.Worrying thing for me is agent told me that in Kitchner it will be treated as a new application and my already spent 16 months time in CIC Montreal office won't be considered.
Could any one please share their experience /views on file transfer aspect.
It'll be unfortunate for me if I need to wait for another 10-16 months time to get my citizenship.

At least 6 months from the date of application is the usual wait.

Hi,

I got the letter from CIC Kitchener office to appear for the citizenship test on June 5th. I applied in Montreal in Jan ,2007
It has been a good surprise for me as CIC call center earlier told me that Kitchener CIC office will restart my application process when my file transferred from Montreal to Kitchener CIC office.
Now my question is:
Q1: How much waiting period normally after citizenship test to get a call for the Oath ceremony. I am hoping to have a quicker timeframe in Kitchener considering GTA
Q2: Do I need to bring all my residency proof document during the citizenship test. In the letter CIC asked me to bring only identification proof document.


I already got US visitor visa appointment on June 16th in Toronto US consulate, so now wondering whether I should cancel that appointment or not. My plan to visit US around July end by road so doesn’t need really Canadian PP if I get my citizenship by then.
