Hello
Itz been like 5 months now that i have landed in Canada and started off doing a job in a call centre(both me and my husband as well)We get a salary which helps us pay off our bills(so itz like hand to mouth).
Now my brother(23 years) wants to apply for a student visa to Canada from India
I have some questions in regards to this.
1)when he fills in the application a column might ask if you have blood related
if he says that his own sister is a PR here does it cause any problems???
2)If i would like to sponsor his living(only) what all documents do i need
would they ask for income proof ? or can i show them my savings account money?Does anyone have a format of letter that i could use it?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanq
cheers
prince

I don't want to take you away from your questions. Please read this to understand what sponsoring involves.
If you are sponsoring him, then here are the items to read and understand first. That is what it involves. You must read the guide and the accompanying materials.
There is no half way or inbetweens. Either you sponsor him or you don't.
Also, you and the sponsored person sign an agreement that confirms that each of you understands your mutual obligations and responsibilities; If you live in Quebec, see Step 2 of How to apply to sponsor for additional information on forms to complete.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5196E2.asp
If you want to provide him with residential support or financial support, then you must read the financial tables. They are calling for an income in dollars suitable to the number of people in the family. Also they will need the pay stubs and bank balance or the Notice of Assessment you will get from the Canada Revenue Agency. (Income Tax Department)
If he is provided with a letter from your employer stating your position there and the salary etc., and a copy of the rental agreement to help him also with an accompanying letter stating that you have established yourselves very well here and he is welcome to stay with you, it will show that there are Blood Relatives here in Canada. You must have the minimum income for the household as indicated in the tables.

If he also has an entry into an Educational Institution in and around where you live, then it will have more weight to it. Otherwise, he will only get a few extra points in the selection process.
***You have to remember that, He has to have sufficient marks and have an approved entry or a seat at an Educational Institution to qualify and the financial support from his home country for obtaining a Student Permit. Otherwise, the only alternative is Sponsorship or an arranged employment.
Now to the questions.
1) State the fact that he has blood relatives here. That is a plus.
2)IMM 1344B The format is here, You can print out only the required , such as sponsor's details, co sponsor's details, details of the sponsored person, where he resides, date of birth, Passport number, and relationship to you with the declaration. Both of you MUST sign the same and send it to him for the submission with the student visa . Please get it notarized.
AND if you are living in Ontario and you are close to this area, then call them or pay a visit. It will be well worth your troubles. They are there to help you all the way.
