Children are in high school . Indian company agreed to pay me 2 return ticket for Canada every year to see the family. Not able to decide. Anyone has the same situation in this forum. Please share or advice.
In my opinion, this is a personal choice that really depends on many factors - your personal values, your personal financial situation etc.
On one hand, living away from your spouse.children can be very hard and their minds will always be on you and yours on them.
Secondly - will double the income in India provide you enough moeny to support your family here AS WELL AS live in India ?? You will be supporting two households. Is this feasible?
Thirdly - You didnt say what field you are in, but will companies here recognize your Indian work experience or will you end up with a 'gap' on your resume?

First thing: Thank you for your Personal Message. I am permitted to send ONLY ONE message out to others from this CD website, either it be e-mail, or a PM, per day. I have made a representation to the Moderator and I sincerely hope that I will get it increased or liberalized. Hence the delay.
The Tax treaty with India does provide you with a break. The DTAA does hold good and will provide you with due relief.
You are not an individual who can break the ties with Canada as you have a property and the family residing in it. Don't have to tear up all of the cards or close all of the Bank accounts. Just carry on smartly as you are doing now.
You will not be getting your Canadian Citizenship with in the next year. If you leave before the receipt of the acknowledgment to your application, then , you will have to convince the judge that you have intentions to becoming a Canadian. Hence my first posting, if you can defer taking up the appointment in India at a time more suitable to YOU. That is at your convenience... Will the job be kept open till then?
Indian Government does permit the support payments to the family and the Son in the University. It will be just a Bank transfer and the maximum is three days, even if a Saturday and Sunday intervenes.
With your background and professional standing, in my opinion, you will be a great fit at the new location. But you will have to prove your worth to maintain the post. If you have second thoughts...Then.... He who hesitates is lost. You are starting your move on the wrong foot. That is my observation
If you are that doubtful, then make a visit to the new location and see if you will have to change a lot of things there at that location, right from where the raw materials enter the location to product shipment. If they agree to your changes and permit your flow pattern, then, take the job or tell them that you will take it up, on an advisory basis, for a fee.
Good Luck.
Freddie.

Hi AhoG,
You are filing your application after 1095 days and you are leaving Canada for good. Now please tell us convincingly, that the application you made for citizenship is genuine? Just a day after application you are leaving the country, never to return to resume where you left off, but to return, just to visit. You have no employment here. You are not paying any taxes. You are no longer a resident of Canada. You are also employed in India. (Elsewhere)
Just to give you some information, before you book an airline ticket, the airline counter checks your FULL name against the NO FLY List. The minute you book your seat and confirm, your name gets into the exit list on the Airline Roster. Canada has been tracking the Immigrants into Canada, and also out, with Passenger list for ages. They are Hawks. If it is a One way ticket that you booked to go to India, you have no prayer. So, ask your NEW employer to pay you, for you to book an open ticket, from Canada with a Return Portion Open. It is good for at least an year. See if it helps you at a later date. The Government of Canada does not have to know that you are working elsewhere. They might think that you will return after a long holiday. Also hold the money transfer till all of this blows over, hopefully soon.
There are a lot of business people who are in a similar situation who spend half an year exactly in Canada and are unable to get that three year period in Five. They have made a representation and want to extend that period to THREE in SIX. They are still trying. You have a situation of your own. It is called between a rock and a hard place. You will find a way out of this all by your self. All I am saying here is, be innovative and cover your tracks.
Good Luck.
Freddie.
Now you know what I mean, when I say 'make a clean break'. I am just treading water. To be good, you have to be two steps ahead. When you are asking these questions, we know that, you are just wet behind the ears. This may not be much, but, we are always there to help you. Freddie.

Hello AhoG,
You are free to leave any time you want. I am just voicing my thoughts a little loudly. Since I see a few reports about the hassles that they are giving to a few applicants, I am just a little disturbed by their actions. Hence a note of caution.
Please apply for the whole family. That will be the best thing to do.
Acknowledgment Three Months?
Test Nine months+. It is very easy.
Citizenship next year. They are very slow in processing. Judges are a few and they are still looking for them. When your turn comes there may not be anyone to ask questions. You may be real lucky.
Good Luck.
Freddie.
