I am planning to take my car which is 2002 model Jaguar from Kuwait, can I take this along with my other personnel effects.I have this car listed in my goods to follow paper also.
I do not think it is worth doing so (i.e importing into Canada) but you may want to check http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/importation/impxus_e.htm and call them and make your own decision.

How do I take my car into Canada?

Hi GKALA,
I believe that Canada has different specifications for automobiles than those that are prescribed by the middle east countries. Before bringing in your car, please ensure that it would be acceptable on the roads here or else it would be a very costly mistake. In any case these types of cars are very expensive to maintain here and so another alternative worth pursuing is to try to sell it off there at a good price and get the money into Canada and buy what you like here since every car here must meet the local specs anyways. If you buy from a dealer you will also have to pay the PST and GST and if you buy a second hand directly from another person who is not a car dealer then these taxes are not likely to hit you. As in all such cases you have to exercise a lot of caution to ensure that you dont end up with a bad deal!
Anyways these are my two cents worth and all the best in whatever you decide.
Hey, LuxBiz3000 are you sure when you buy the car from some one personally and not from dealer, you don't pay GST/PST. Because I bought my car from some one and when I register it on my name they charge me GST or PST one of them I am not sure which one of them.

To my knowledge a person selling his/her own personal car to another person cannot charge GST/PST since only businesses can charge such taxes for any sales made by them.
I recall paying some charges while registering a car (probably registration) but no PST/GST.
