Aashu,
Police will not get involved for amonuts less than $1000.
She should have shared the insurance info. with you. She did not and it is an offence.
If you want to set right the damages, you should file a complaint with the police and they will charge her for failure to share insurance info. at the area of collision. You can search the experiences of "newyork" who was involved in a similar situation (use the search option at charcha)
Were there any witnesses to the accident situation. This will help the case by 100% if a person testifies to the accident situation. Rear ending is mostly the fault of the rear ender, even though the vehicle at the front put breaks suddenly and so you have 100% chance of winning.
Peace

Ashwani, Did you call police at the time of collision?
Other question:
1) As in Ashwani's case if someone reports wrong complain, dose collision center verify with police record?
2) I have read many times in forum that if damage is less than 1000 then police doesn’t get involved. Do they take license plate and other description in that case? or tell both parties to exchange insurance detail?
Thanks

Growing Old Is Mandatory ..Growing UP is Optional
Not sharing info needs to be reported as hit and run. You need to write downa s much as you can. License plate, car color, make model, the person description etc etc. Time street date and day is also very important. Get any one who could be a witness.

Another option within 48 hours of accident is to report it at collission cntr ..
If another person refuses to share the info ,you can file hit and run.
I had been in similar situation few years back . When I reached collission cntr after completing my work the other person was filing a report against myself .
Upon my arrival this person got little nervous and annuled the case with mutual consent . Even though he hit me from back , he was filing as if I hit him and ran ( he refused to give me details on scene and the damages were minor )
