Any of our Desis visited Victoria B.C (Vancouver)?
Please give some information about this area.
Are there more Indians,Indian groceries etc.
Is it possible for a typical (south)Indian to settle there?
What about the cost of living there?
Please share your information and views.
Thanks.

I've visited Victoria during my 3 day trip to Canada to complete my landing formalities. Hence my knowledge on accommodation and living in this area is very limited.

Victoria is located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island and you can reach this city from the mainland by ferry or sea plane. It's predominantly British and I didn't see many desi's there. However the scenic beauty of this city is unmatched.

Victoria is a beautiful city. If you have a job/business in Victoria, you would love this city.

I don't know about Indian population, but saw many indians while visiting Victoria (they might be visitor). There are couple of indian restaurants (I think there is a south indian restaurant too). I tried one Indian restaurant that was really very bad.

I am sure there must be indian grocery stores too (I think there is a store named - Indian Food market at Quadra street).

I don't see any issue with living in Victoria for a typical south indian. Cost of living will be on higher side. You have to pay premium to live in paradise.

There may be only one drawback - Once you are settled in Victoria (after 1-2 years), you will find difficult to leave Victoria.

It takes 95 minutes by ferry from Vancouver to victoria (ferry terminal to terminal)
