Hello CD's,
I had booked a driving test appointment for a family member on Friday (Dec. 19) for 11:15 am. I found out yesterday that there was going to be a snow storm tomorrow and I tried to cancel it. The computer said that we have to give 48 hours notice for any cancellation and that if I cancelled at that time, I would lose my money ($75).
Is there any other way (like speaking to a MTO CSR) and getting the date moved further on (with no cost to me) for the genuine reason of a snow storm which is likely to start from 6:00 am on Friday.
Any CD's experience in this?

wtf? if you can't drive in a snowstorm and be tested to be able to drive in a snowstorm, you should NOT be issued a licence......

I remember one of my friend went to Etobicole location for the test. It was snow storm that day. After an hour, the testing centre was offering alternate dates to the drivers who came for the test that day. My friend took the day off from the work (contract worker). You know it hurts so he said he will give the test. He sat with the examiner in the car and started to back up. He was half way backing his car, the examiner said stop, you failed the test. He asked why? Examiner said you should have cleaned the snow from your rear screen and side windows. My friend tried to argue that it does not matter by the time he would have done it more snow would have fallen on it. The examiner did not listen further and asked him to get a new date which he had to take with additional $75.

Driving Instructors also hesitate in instructing during snow storms ...... a driving test is aimed at checking your application of rules and signs and not snow driving .
I was once revealed by an Instructor that they can get the test canceled on the same day ... TK ~ try contacting the office personally or through an Instructor if you used one .
