Hi,
Anyone can provide me link or list of IT companies in Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar (Gujarat, India)?
I would like to sort out the companies according to my experience. (C/C++ on linux/unix for product development)
I have 8 yrs experience (2 yrs India + 3 yrs USA + 3 yrs Canada). How much salary I suppose to expect in Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar if get an offer?
I want to start searching job there. If anyone can provide me the best way to get an offer before moving to India would be great.

I just want list of all IT companies in Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar/Baroda city. Also, looking for information about how to proceed for securing job over there before moving? [I'll need at least 3 months time to join after getting offer]
I think 2 lakhs / month is very high and 2 lakhs / year is very less. (I am not aware of salary at the moment in Gujarat, India )
What do you mean by 2 lakhs salary?

I think you are not following the developement of IT in India.
When I left India in 2002, Salary for IT people was rs. 30K -Rs 40K (with 3 or 4 years of Indian experience) and Rs 60,000 to Rs 90,000 with Both Indian experience and USA experience. At the peak of IT (in 2006-08), salaries for experienced people wit 10-12 years of progressive experience and as PM was around 2 lakhs a month (in B'lore and Hyderababd) and that is what Freddie has shared with you. However in Gujju land and with the recent credit crisis, salaries and oppertunities will be a bit less.
Now a days in India, there are a lot of HR firms that hire left and right for these software firms. You should first try to identify them (using Naukri.com) and then e-mail them your resume. They will conduct telephonic interviews and then pass your resume to the software companies. The software companies will then interview you over phone and send you the appointment letter through e-mail. You will have to sign the appointment letter, scan it with your signature and then sned it back to them.
Depending on your position, you may be eligible for relocation benefits.
All the best and please do update us on your efforts. All this that I have said is for professional programmers/ developers/ analysts/ PM with good Canadian /US experience, good soft skills which can bewitch your not that good english speaking counterparts in Gujarat etc....

You may be right about salary. When I left Gujarat in 2002, I was making 20000/month (2 yrs exp.).
Now, I have almost 9 years experience, I am expecting 12 to 14 lakhs per year. But still it looks like it is too much as I do not have any leadership or management experience yet. It is easy to get an opportunity in India to become project leader or project manager. Also, My English is not that much fluent. I am still poor in English for general discussion. I do not have any problem for technical discussion. I am confident and do not have problem of interview fear. Also, recruitment in IT companies in India is almost stop at this moment.
I am hard worker with good technical experience of sustaining products like financial txn system and security surveillance. I am +ve thinker and ready to accept an opportunity to learn Leadership and Management skills. [Suggest me if you think I suppose to attend any course for leadership/management skills before/after moving. It would be better if you include approx. fees of the course. I am in Ottawa]
Do you think I can negotiate salary upto 12 lakhs/year in Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar/Baroda city?
Anyone have an idea about interview process over there? [It looks it is very easy to pass interview in North America in compare of India. What kind of preparation I need for interview process?]
I have good job in Canada at this moment. I don't know about tomorrow but I am not in hurry to move to India. I've time of 1 year to move back.
I am visiting India in March/April 2009 after 4 years from last visit of India. This visit is to know about change in my city and opportunity of job/business which will help me to make better plan to move back.
I am also looking for suggestions about what kind of information I suppose to gether in this visit to make my plan successful.
