Actually I recently applied to Georgian College located in Barrie. The admission office has asked me to submit Statement of Purpose (SOP ) and a CV . Now the question
arises is that on what basis they give acceptance letter .Is SOP more important than the marks one has secured.Can anyone guide me as how to write an effective
SOP.

Good marks help You meet General Admission Criteria. A statement of purpose (and what it depicts of Your personal attributes) is what helps You get admission. So the question that now arises is; "How Motivated Are You?"
