My mother came here on visitors visa (Single entry) in April 2003 and she got one extension for visitors visa valid till end of March 2004. We applied for immigration of both my parents recently and as we see from the website of CIC.GC.CA, currently they are taking about 8 months to clear the sponsorship applications in Canada. As i understand from postings on this website, it is likely to take 2 to 3 years to get imiigration visa for my parents from Delhi. My mother is willing to stay here with us as long as possible and my father wants to visit us once in 3/4 months from India till immigration visa is received.
As i undersatnd, option with us is to go on applying for extension to my mother's visitors visa every six months. But as Masood Bhai mentioned in one of the postings, extension becomes difficult after third extention. However with the above time schedule, we may need 5/6 extentions before immigration visa is received by my parents.
What is the best course of action for me under the above circumstances? If my mother has to go back to India when she doesn't get extention beyond 3rd extention , and she applies again for a visitor's visa in Delhi, will they refuse because she applied for 3 extensions for the previous visitor's visa? Will the fact that my parents immigration visa application will be pending with Delhi CHC affect the issue of visitors visa once gain to my mother?
Best option: keep applying for extension until they refuse.
- your mum goes back and waits for PR visa
- if she applies for visitor's visa again it won't affect the sponsorship but less likely that Delhi will issue visitor's visa
