Hi All,
As we are landing next month, request you to advice, whether it is necessary or not to provide mailing address on arrival at immigration counter.

Secondly, why they need the mailing address for new immigrant.
And what happens if we do not provide or unable to provide any mailing address at the counter.

Because, we will be staying in a temporary accomodation for a week and thereafter will be finding another accomodation.

If you dont have any address when you land, you can inform the immigration officer accordingly and he/she will give you the form for mailing later on when you have a mailing address.

There is no problem except it will delay your PR card processing with that much time.

Though I havent been through this process, I believe this is the process. You can also contact CIC in your local country to confirm.

Good Luck.

Yes you don't have to necessarily give a mailing address when you are completing your landing process. I had a similar situation few years back and i sent them my new address a week after landing. You can also do it online and if i am not mistaken even by phone. They will provide you the contact details at the counter.
