wondering if somebody has tried cloth diapers that can be washed? the regular diaper are quite expensive. are huggies or pampers the good one or other brands such as parent's choice is good too? any idea to decrease the diaper expense? Thanks.........
They are definitely an expense. We have not tried cloth diapers. But we tried the "cheaper" brands such as Kirkland and Parent's Choice but they just weren't absorbent enough and leaked quite a bit. We tried Huggies but our child was severely allergic to them. So we had to move on to Pampers. Although expensive, they have been the best and we have stuck with it. I'd say it depends on the child. Buy small packages of each and try them out. You WILL have to stick with what your child is comfortable in. It is not something you can compromise. Because if the diapers aren't good, your child will develop diaper rash and we all know how expensive good diaper rash creams can be

I personaly like Pampers better than huggies as my baby never got any problem with Pampers while huggies leaked sometime. My husband ordered Cloth diapers (Kushies Ultra Couches Lavables) which have good reviews and are enviornment friendly but it didn't work for my son as he got rashes in one day so I moved back to Pampers after spending $150 on cloth diapers.
I would suggest stick to Pampers. You can print your $2 off coupon from Save.ca and most of the stores(Shoppers drug mart, Zellers) once in a month put them on sale for $13.99(Mega pack originally $18.99), stock them and you can enjoy good dipaers for less.

I have always been a fan of pampers.
I reverted to Kirkland and would advise not to buy this brand as it does not absorb the feaces and it will increase diaper rash / uncleanleness etc.. Besides the baby will start crying as soon as it poops since the diaper will not absorb.
The only problem with Pampers is that there is a net which often sticks to the baby as soon as it poops, though there is no much inconvenience in that to the baby.
I have used (for my family) only Pampers and Kirkland and I would go with pampers anyday.

Parent's Choice is not bad for the price. One way to avoid diaper rash would be to keep the baby dry and changing diaper often as needed.

Pampers or Huggies are the best, depending on they suit your child. I foundthe cheapest source to be Costco, where they have larger pack sizes than those available at Walmart and it works out to be cheaper on a per diaper basis.
Pampers are without question the best brand, and obviously the most expensive.
As someone said, you don't have much choice in the matter - you have to go with whatever works best for the baby.
The cheaper store brands like Kirkland and the Wal*Mart one (don't remember the name) are very inferior quality.
Regarding cloth diapers, it is a misconception that cloth diapers will save you all the diaper expense.
Cloth diapers cost in other ways - you have to account for the water, soap and electricity consumed in washing them multiple times a day, plus your time to change them, wash them and dry them.
