Hello!
I am travelling to india on the 24 th of dec. with my wife and a 4 month old very fussy bottle feeding baby. I travel Toronto-paris-B'lore with 3 or 4 hrs. halt at Paris.
My question to fellow Cd's is this :
1. What special care do i have to take for the baby?
2. Is it advisable to take the stoller with me?
3. Is there any special facilities at the airport/air plane other than the bassinet?
4. How to handle the baby crying during take off /landing/ear popping?
5. What do i need to do in case i have an emergency medical need for the baby while in flight and while in the airport.
6. How do i avoid embarassing fellow travellers while the baby cries and when i change the diaper?
7. Is it possible to get just 2 side seats for us instead of being in the centre 4 seats with the baby.
I am sure that CD's would have had very good experiences in this and i request all ideas from fellow CD members.
Thank you.

I can try and answer some of your Q's
1. Keep common medicines in your handbag
2. Yes. Just before you board, they'll take it from you and immediately after you arrive you'll get it back. This happens just as you're entering/leaving the plane
3. Within the airplane you could get a small bassinet. You may to request for it before-hand.
4. It's normal. Try and put the baby to sleep prior to take-off and landing
5. Emergency in-flight do the same thing you'd do for yourself, ie contact the staff and let them know. Emergency at the airport - contact the airport staff, they usually have some medical aid around
6. That's normal. You don't have to get embarresed, it's a 4 month old after all.
7. If you get to the airport well in advance, they give you the 2 front seats, which has enough legroom where you can keep the bassinet. it's probably a mini bassinet, don't expect a full size one.
Have a happy and safe trip......
Edit: Don't forget to see the doctor before you leave. Ensure your child's vaccinations are upto date.

Hello!
How much weight is allowed per person these days in Air Canada Intl. flights. I can also check this from air canada website as given by raj canada. Also i want to know if my 4 month old infant baby has an allowance of 2 more suitcases + 1 hand luggage?

One more thing you can try - thugh I never had to use it even though I travelled a lot when my children were infants since they were quite babies - give them some no-harm sleeping syrups (even Benadril used to be ok). It will keep them quite and make them sleep for most of the journey.
