You can get a notarized statement from either a Public Notary or some one in the Administration viz DM , CM etc . or some other Govt Official verifying that the Institution is genuine ...... Perhaps Indian Embassy can advise you on this .

If you have no contacts in India for university verification please consult any Education assessor in North America. They verify and report on your education credentials, (of course their main job is to compare your Indian education with US education but they report on the authenticity of universities too). When our PR was rejected the first time I got mine done from New York (link below).

But all this is much later, first please wait for your decision it can be positive too!

Thanks guys for your replies and yes for giving such valuable advice and suggestions. Truly appreciate it :-)

Fido: I will surely check with the Indian consulate here about it, however my spouse degree is already attested and notarised as thats required in UAE.

Jona: Yes this also looks like an option that I can look at after checking with the Indian consulate.... trying to gauge which of the two would have stronger effect on CIC's decision... Thanks for the encouraging comment of the outcome turning positive :-)

Can you please give me details of how long did it take when u appealed on your case and did u have to go thru the whole process of wait time when you re-applied?

Bells, we never even came closer to interview or anything like that, the rejection came in the beginning the 1st year itself as my hubby's CA qualification was rejected for 17 yrs education criteria. We appealed and re applied and received PR in 2.5 yrs (but in this time our kids were also born for whom we put an update to the application). We were waived off from the interview, I mean we never did any interview and got straight to PR. In total I'll say it took us 3.5 yrs (the one wasted and 2.5 other).

Thanks Jona for updating me on your process...

Well now its begun to sink in so I think I will just hang on till we get the letter from CIC as only then will we know exactly wut the status is and then pick it up from there...

Nothing to worry if the qualificaton is genuine and accredited (recognized) .

I recall this case .. must ve been 10 yrs... a friend of mine applied as a Systems Analyst and in the interview it was discovered that his profile was that of a N/W engineer and not a Systems Analyst . He was rejected initially but later accomodated and has been in Canada for the past 5 yrs.

All the best . Its just a matter of time I believe .

Thanks for the reply, yes I suppose I will continue to hang on and see the outcome...

Well I have plan B in place anyways incase things aren't working on the immigration front... and presently I would not want to migrate rite away even if it happens soon... as have a decent enough job here in Dubai... and knowing the situation on the jobs front all over prefer to stick around here till times get better and then take a call...
