Finally yesterday we received a call from our agent informing us that they received the reply from High Commission and that we need to get the verification done.

The agency informed us that we need to get in touch with the university and tell them to send details of the degree directly to the high commission in a sealed envelope.

However the main worry here is that we dont have anyone presently in Bombay who can do this for us. The whole family is aboard and most of the friends too not around or lost touch. I was wondering if there is any other way to get the degree verification letter. The high commission has still not returned the original degree.

I would highly appreciate if all of you could throw in your thoughts on wut can be done

1. You can take a break for a week ( if possible), stay in Bombay and complete your job.

2. If not, it is possible to find some one who can do this service for a charge.

First of all - Congratulations .. You did not receive a rejection ... I m sure the case must be now subject to degree verification ..

I assume you are in the UAE ... the Indian Embassy can help you in this regard if they wish to ... Visit and talk to the Counselor personally .... not the counter staff ... Embassy people can be helping at times .... They might suggest a better way .

Alternatively if I were in your shoes and did not have any friends / relatives to help , I would have visited India for this purpose .

All the best .

Just recalled there s a website 'yourmaninindia.com' .... They help NRI s who have jobs to be done in India ... They might be able to help you for a fee. However this matter can be best dealt by yourself .

Please ask your agent if a professional academic evaluation will do instead of University sending the information? There are education assessors (see link) below who assess educations from all over the world and directly send the reports to, consulates, employers etc. These are some renowned names and this kind of evaluation by these agencies is very common in North America. During our PR we got it done from "Trust Forte Corporation New York" and the Canadian consulate accepted it (but in our case story was different than yours). Before you approach please ask your agent if this will serve purpose in your case. Few links for you.

Hope it helps.

my dear friend, you are in better position than we are today. We already landed 3 months back leaving good job, good business etc and we are jobless since last 3 months and they are asking my husband to do canadian education and experience at the age of 44 which will prolong till next 4-5 years. Till he completes that, either we have to stay jobless and hungry or do labour job lifting 25-30 lbs for 8 hours. The hard scenerio is if you are well off, we are better in UAE and India. With the funds what, we carry in canada say for eg. $1,00,000 which is as good as Rs.50,00,000 or say $50000 which is Rs. 25,00,000/-, we don't need to come to canada to do labour job lifting 50 lbs and having health problems. with such funds which majority of Indians don't even dream of, we can sit and enjoy our life doing nothing and live on bank interest alone. I don't know why we are so crazy about canada and USA and waste of hard earned money coming to such countries, whereby Visa are issued when there are no job opportunities. My dear friend, thank God that he is saved you form such situation.

Thanks all you guys for your feedback.

I just have the letter in my hand now and it says decision made and the letter says:"I have completed the assessment of your application and I have determined that you do not qualify for a visa to Canada under Skilled Worker Class".

Reason: "Suspect that the degree is not bonafide because of irregularities in the certificate and subsequently confirmed my suspicions when your spouse was unable to answer accounting questions during the course of the interview. As a result you are inadmissble to Canada for a period of two years from this day of the letter".

But during the interview the officer did say that we can appeal on this and should ask our agent to do it. But now I am confused that they have already sent a decision made feedback, then how will the appeal help, will they change their decision.

As well as they have not sent my spouse original certificate, if they have made the decision why have they not returned our documents and certificates?
